Skipping Girl Vinegar - Festivus for the Rest of Us Tour
1. Where does Skipping Girl Vinegar call home & in 5 words, how would you describe your music?
Melbourne is our home base. However, from our extensive touring we really have homes in every port. We enjoy getting back to places multiple times and getting to know people in an area. We’re glad to be coming to Nowra for the first time and hope there will be a stellar night swimming spot in the backyard.
SGV music: Acoustic pop with ‘hobo chic’

2. You have some really interesting video clips, a small series of a traveling band with a continuing story, how did this idea come about & will it be a common theme?
We have strong child-hood memories of watching early morning cartoons with those irresistible cliff-hanger endings. When we were thinking about what to do for our film-clips we put an ad up at a student university/art school. We had one response from a seriously talented young animated called Leigh Ryan. So Mark Lang from the band and Leigh worked on these SGV clips together and turned the band into animation form. These clips are full of references from books we have read, people who have influenced us and people who have supported us along the road of making a debut album. We’re currently brain-storming ideas for the new album clips so tune in, in 2011.
3. what is in the future for Skipping Girl Vinegar?
We’ve just come off the back of playing some packed crowds at festivals to record a new record with a great deal of hard rubbish through in for good measure. We’ll be finishing the record and mixing it in Nashville, in Feb 2011, so people can expect a new album from Skipping Girl Vinegar with some hobo chic sounds and a national theatre tour. For now, were coming to Nowra!
4. what is in your music player at the moment? Top 5 tracks...
Laredo- Band of Horses
All is love- Karen O and the Kids
